Chanel‘s new luxurious fall 2014 collection is called États Poétiques and consists of a lot of products, some new and limited edition and some already seen in older collections or the permanent line.

This is what Chanel described: “A poetic Fall palette. A colourful game of opposites. Innocent and stormy shadows express passion and emotion. A redesigned eyeliner pen defines a tone of mystery with a sleek felt tip for ultimate precision”.
How is this collection composed?
The collection consists of the same products worldwide, but in some countries, there are more pieces.
Nail Polishes • $27.00
Chanel‘s nail polishes are worldwide famous for their texture and colour range.
The États Poétiques collection offers three Le Vernis: 625 Secret (a neutral pink shade), 631 Orage (a deep blue shade) and 629 Athmosphère (almost a cold lilac/pink duochrome). Light to medium coverage. Secret is the toughest to apply.
Lipglosses • $29.50
They came out with two Lèvres Scintillantes: 189 Rose Rêvé (a neutral light pink shade) and 191 Songe (a sparkly and irridescent cold pink/lilac). Songe is like 629 Athmosphère (the nail polish described above), but for the lips and it’s definitely more interesting than the 189. It kinda reminds me of a lighter Rihanna’s Viva Glam 2 Lipglass. Light to medium coverage.
Lipsticks • $35.00
The Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks range from a neutral and light nude pink (93 Intime) to a dark pink with sparkles (94 Confident), to a bright fuchsia (95 Viva) to a dark brown/berry colour (96 Aura). Medium pigmentation and creamy finish (sparkles or frost finishes depend from the single shade).
Powder Blush • $45.00
The Joues Contaste in the shade 160 Innocence is a pretty pale pink shade with minimal satin finish. I think that it’s too pale and has a light to medium coverage. On me, that i’m fair, looks gorgeous, but on some other skin tones, tends to appear weird.
Écriture de Chanel Eyeliner • $35.00
It’s a really good felt tip pen eyeliner and comes in two shades: 10 Noir, a black, and 20 Brun, a dark brown.
They came out with five eyeshadows: 114 Admiration (a shimmer gold/yellow) , 112 Pulsion (a dark purple), 104 Palpitation (a light pink), 106 Hesitation (a sparkly plum), 102 Sensatation (a very light pink/lilac – interesting shade) and 108 Exaltation (a bright pink). Sensation, Palpitation and Hésitation are the most pigmented, even though they provide a medium coverage.
As you can see, the shades are not typical for fall, but most of them are great for an everyday look. There’s not something super dark. They all come with a pretty useless sponge applicator, but great for touch ups when you’re out.
Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad • ($62 at thebay.com)
It’s a pretty combo. Perfect for an everyday look or an evening look, using the darkest shade. Here we have some pink neutrals and a plum/warm taupe shade. Comes with two applicator sponges too.
Perfect to define the crease. Soft, but way too pricey for what it is.
Comes in the shade 30 Prune. “This high-precision mascara achieves instant volume and intensely lush colour in a single stroke. Its innovative formula expands, plumping lashes to their fullest. The exclusive new ‘Snowflakes’ brush combines long and short bristles to deliver an extreme, eye-opening effect”.
It’s like they don’t want summer to end. I don’t know how i feel about it. On the one hand, it makes the collection stand out, but, on the other, i wanted to see something more daring, not necessary a “darker” collection.
I think i’ll recreate this look on my Instagram.
