When the original line was released, they immediately caught my attention. I literally fell in love with all shades, especially Mermaid Beam (love at first sight!) and when I got Turkish Delight I had the chance to actually feel and play with the amazing consistency this highlighter has and it’s jawdropping. And this rose gold is gorgeous, seriously.

It has a very fine consistency and it’s extremely pigmented.

Makeup Addiction • Meadow Palette • Review

As you may know, I’m a palette junkie and, speaking of palettes, one of my favorite brand is Makeup Addiction, because I literally and genuinely love their products, especially their palettes.

As I wrote in the Flaming Love Palette article and in the Vintage Palette one , I can definitely tell when I like something, because I start using it on repeat.

And this happened with the Meadow Palette.

Here’s how the palette is described on the official Makeup Addiction website:

“The ‘Meadow’ Eyeshadow Palette consists of 8 highly pigmented shadows, that range from cool to warm tones including bold metallic colours which compliment each other”.

Palette Composition and Shades

The palette is composed by eight eyeshadows that I personally like to consider pressed pigments.

Three are matte, while the other ones have a metallic finish. One of the metallic shades has a duo chrome effect.sparkleoflight makeup addiction meadow palette eyeshadow reviews swatches sandstone sweet peach dusk slate green

  • Sandstone – Described as a “metallic peachy beige, think bubbly“, Sandstone is a great highlighting shade. It has a very nice champagne sheen.
  • Sweet Peach – Described as a “matte medium peach beige, think yummy peaches“, Sweet Peach is the perfect warm transition shade. I even used it as a peachy blush recently.
  • Dusk – Described as a “matte dark burnt orange, think terracotta“, Dusk is definitely my favorite reddish matte and blends like a dream.
  • Slate Green – Described as a “metallic duo chrome green with blue/brown, think slate“, Slate Green is a very particular blue/green metallic shade with a duochrome effect.

  • Bronzed Leaf – Described as a “metallic bronze, think egyptian goddess“, Bronzed Leaf is a warm medium bronzed gold. The pigmentation and creaminess of this shade is insane, literally insane!
  • Pink Blossom – Described as a “metallic peachy pink, think romance“, Pink Blossom is a cool bubblegum pink with a metallic finish. Love to pair this one with Sweet Peach and Sandstone for a romantic look.
  • Poison Ivy – Described as a “metallic moss green, think nature“, Poison Ivy is a medium rich olive green, almost a dupe for MAC’s Humid, but way more pigmented.
  • Crushed Blueberry – Described as a “matte dark teal blue, think mysterious sky“, Crushed Blueberry is a matte teal blue. I have a lot of matte blue shades, but the majority of the them applies patchy and sheer. This one doesn’t have this kind of problems at all. It’s very versatile. Some days ago I mixed it with a dark grey and I applied Slate Green on the lid. Amazing combo!

Makeup Addiction • Vintage Palette • Review

Some time ago I published a post on this blog about a product I tend to reach for almost every time i do my makeup, the Flaming Love Palette by Makeup Addiction. I got the chance to try their latest release, the Vintage Palette, and, after some time of testing, I’m finally managing to talk about it. I really wanted to do this a bit earlier, but so many things happened and i couldn’t.

So, as the Flaming Love, the Vintage Palette contains eight individual eyeshadows with finishes ranging from matte to metallic to sparkly/glittery.

As described on their official website, the palette contains “a range of neutral warm earthy tones and metallic colours which compliment each other“.

Shades & Swatches

All the eyeshadows have a good pigmentation, some of them an outstanding one, and perform very well in terms of resistance and saturation.

Matte Finish

These three shades have a lovely matte finish and a creamy/velvety texture. The pigmentation of this ones is great and they provide a lovely base to work with. They also compensate well the metallic and “glittery” shades.

  • Custard Cream – It’s described as a “matte soft creamy beige, think yummy custard desert”. I usually dust this all over the eyes to help with the blending or on the brow bone and inner corner for a soft highlight.
  • Dirty Brown – It’s described as a “matte yellow based brown, think camel“. This shade has a lovely yellow undertone, but somehow it manages to result cold undertoned, if used with cold shades, and warm undertoned, when used with warm shades, so it’s definitely very versatile. It’s perfect to define the crease and give dimension to the eyes or all over the lid and crease for a 90’s inspired look. It’s very, very similar to MAC‘s now discontinued  Uninterrupted Pro Longwear eyeshadow. I believe that it’s definitely dupe and there’s actually no difference in the results! Love this! Amazing shade!
  • Amber – It’s described as a “matte yellow orange, think sunset”. This is my favorite matte shade. I’m obsessed with orange shades on the crease. Obsessed. I mix this one with the warm matte shades (Flaming Kisses, Brownie and Savannah Desert) from the Flaming Love Palette to create a lovely warm gradient on the crease. So, as i may have hinted, this is definitely my favorite matte shade from the palette. When I opened the Vintage Palette for the first time, i immediately fell in love.

“Creamy Metallic” Shades

These three eyeshadows have a unique consistency, because, as i said for the matte shades, they’re creamy, but, instead of having a matte finish, they’re extremely shimmery/metallic.

Persian Rose – It’s described as a “duochrome peachy rose gold, think metallic roses”. The first time I used it, it literally blew my mind! This Continue reading

Makeup Addiction • Ultimate Eye Set

On my Instagram i often get asked about the brushes i use to achieve my looks.

I really like to switch products and try new things to see what works best for me, but there are things that I always tend to reach for and there are four brushes that I basically use every single time and that are part of this set.

This is the Ultimate Eye Set by Makeup Addiction Cosmetics and is composed by twelve pieces, some made of synthetic fibers an some made of natural hair. Let’s take a closer look!

  • Duo Fibre Blender – Described as a “soft domed tapered blending brush designed for sweeping colour back & forth for a well diffused effect”. It’s a very nice brush for a diffused and soft blending.
  • Smudge – Described as a “short rounded brush very effective for creating a smokey effect by smudging shadow or liner on the upper & lower lash line”. This is one of my favorites! Love this to apply and blend the eyeshadow on the lower lashline to obtain a very nice “grungy” effect. I also use it to smudge and diffuse creamy khols or to apply wet pigments on the lid.

Makeup Addiction • Beauty by JJ Brush Set

Face Brushes

  • Precision Powder – Described as a “multipurpose dome shaped brush designed to precisely apply your powder, bronzer, contour and highlight”. Bristles are soft and not too dense. I love to use this to dust the powder. I also use it to softly apply my blush.
  • Blush – Described as a brush with “a rounded shaped arrangement of the bristles for a perfect cheeck application”. It’s a great brush to apply bronzer and blush.
  • Master Stippler – Described as a “dense and rounded duo fibre brush, ideal for applying liquid and cream products. It provides a full coverage and well blended effect”.  I use this one to apply my Double Wear foundation, it applies it in a more sheer and natural way.
  • Small Contour –  Described as a “a dense and rounded brush perfect for applying a chiselled contour with powder products and blending it in. It can also be used to apply bronzer and blush. Love this to enhance my cheeckbones.

Makeup Addiction • Flaming Love Palette Review

When testing out products, I can definitely tell that I like something, when I start using it on repeat or when i tend to go back to it every time i’m putting my makeup on.

This happened with the Flaming Love Palette by Makeup Addiction.

sparkleoflight makeup addiction flaming love palette eyeshadow pigmented

If you check some of my work, you can definitely tell that i’m into brows and graphic eyeliners, but that i’m also in love with being creative, especially with colors. Something you may not know yet is that I’m totally into pigmented, matte and warm undertoned eyeshadows too, so you can do the math and understand why i genuinely and honestly love this palette so much.

Palette Composition and Shades

sparkleoflight makeup addiction flaming love palette reviews

“The ‘Flaming Love‘ eyeshadow palette consists of 8 highly pigmented shadows, with a range of warm earthy tones and metallic colours which compliment each other”.

The palette is composed by eight eyeshadows that I personally consider as pressed pigments. As for the finishes, three are matte, while the other have a metallic finish. Two of the metallic ones have a nice duo chrome effect.

Yes, i broke that eyeshadow, but works perfectly 🙂

  • Whisper – “Metallic beige, think champagne”. It’s a perfect highlighting shade for lids, inner corners and cheekbones too.
  • Goldilocks – “True gold, think treasure. It has a metallic finish”. What i love about it is that it’s a warmer gold, not too cold and not too “antique”.
  • Belize – “Metallic turquoise, think peacock”. This is one of those shades that make you immediately think about summer and i love to combine it with Goldilocks and Savannah Desert.
  • Amethyst – “Duo chrome purple, think jewels. It has a metallic finish”. It’s a lovely metallic purple shade with a light hint of blue and magenta.

  • Eden – “Duo chrome pink with gold flecks, think rose gold”. Eden may look like a average metallic pink, but it has a lovely gold touch to it.
  • Flaming kisses – “Matte burgundy red, think rusty”. It’s definitely a great shade to deepen the crease. If blended lightly, it gives a lovely warm and reddish touch to any look. If fully applied, it gets pretty dark. Love it!
  • Savannah Desert – “Matte orange based brown, think earth”. Same ad Flaming Kisses, but instead of warm and reddish touch, it provides more of a warm and orange one.
  • Brownie – “Matte dark brown, think chocolate”. It’s the darkest and with this one you can deepen any look. It’s not a black, but a very dark brown and has a neutral to warm undertone.
